The Community Service Officer (CSO) Program provides a unique opportunity for Law Enforcement
and Police Science students to learn the workings of a law enforcement
department.
The CSO program was implemented in 1989 and has provided a ‘learn while you earn’
opportunity for college students. The Program is open to all Law Enforcement and Police Science students who
are actively pursuing a degree and career in the Law Enforcement field. Students who are accepted into the
program provide the Brodhead Police Department’s security services. Working through the program’s
requirements, a CSO can provide vacation house watches, bike patrol services, special operation monitoring,
traffic survey functions and traffic control. In addition, the department provides training and certified
training in these related fields.
If you’re currently attending a
College or University and Police Science/Law Enforcement is your major, have weekends and holidays available, are
available at flexible hours, have a good driving record with no felony arrest, then you need to complete an
application to apply for the CSO program. Why should the “Experience” portion of your resume wait until you earn your degree?
